Description
This completely updated
text/reference is designed to present the fundamental principles of
chemistry with strong emphasis on experiments, applications and
topics in engineering and the problems created by chemical
processes. The three-part structure of the book (Chemistry - I,
Chemistry - II, and Chemistry Laboratory) covers more advanced
topics in applied chemistry including thermodynamics, polymers,
fuel combustion, water treatment and environmental pollution. It
can be used by practicing engineers, chemists, and scientists -- or
as a text in standard university courses in engineering chemistry,
chemical engineering, and chemistry for engineers. Numerous
experiments and applications of modern chemical theory,
illustrations, in-text examples and exercises have been
included.
Features
- Provides
extensive discussions of thermodynamics, electrochemistry,
polymers, corrosion, fuel combustion, water treatment and
environmental pollution--with emphasis on topics of interest in
engineering
- Includes
a Chemistry Laboratory section demonstrating 15 in-depth
experiments with discussion questions
- Designed
as a text/reference, it provides practicing engineers, scientists,
and students with the up-to-date concepts of applied
chemistry
